Tyger, tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
..
In what distant deeps or skies,
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
..
And what shoulder and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
..
What the hammer? what the chain?;
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp,
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
..
When the stars threw down their spears,
And water’d heaven with their tears
Did he smile his work to see?;
Did He who made the lamb make thee?
Tyger, tyger, burning bright

Τιγρη,τιγρη,φλογερη λαμψη
Μεσ'στα δαση της νυχτας,
Ποιο αθανατο χερι η'ματι
Εκαμε τη φοβερη σου συμμετρια ;
Σε τι αβυσσους η'ουρανους
Καιει η φωτια των ματιων σου;
Πανω σε τι φτερα τολμα να υψωθει;
Ποιο χερι τολμα τη φωτια ν'αρπαξει;
Και ποιος ωμος και ποια τεχνη
Να στριψει θα μπορειε τα νευρα της καρδια σου;
Κι οταν η καρδια σου να χτυπα αρχιζει,
Ποιο τρομερο χερι και τρομερο ποδι;
Ποιο το σφυρι;ποια η αλυσιδα;
Σε ποιο καμινι ηταν το μυαλο σου;.
Ποιο τ'αμονι;Ποια τρομερη τσιμπιδα
τολμα τους θανασιμους τρομους του να πιασει;
Οταν τ'αστρα κατω ριχναν τ'ακοντια τους ,
Και ποτιζαν τους ουρανους με τα δακρυα τους.
Αυτος χαμογελα το εργο του να βλεπει;
Αυτος που'καμε τον αμνο εκαμε εσενα;
Τιγρη,τιγρη,φλογερη λαμψη

Τιγρη,τιγρη,φλογερη λαμψη
Μεσ'στα δαση της νυχτας,
Ποιο αθανατο χερι η'ματι
Εκαμε τη φοβερη σου συμμετρια ;
Σε τι αβυσσους η'ουρανους
Καιει η φωτια των ματιων σου;
Πανω σε τι φτερα τολμα να υψωθει;
Ποιο χερι τολμα τη φωτια ν'αρπαξει;
Και ποιος ωμος και ποια τεχνη
Να στριψει θα μπορειε τα νευρα της καρδια σου;
Κι οταν η καρδια σου να χτυπα αρχιζει,
Ποιο τρομερο χερι και τρομερο ποδι;
Ποιο το σφυρι;ποια η αλυσιδα;
Σε ποιο καμινι ηταν το μυαλο σου;.
